Just in case….

Just in case, dear friends, it looks like I have it all together… I don’t.

Just in case  you (like me) have a tendency to fill in  perfect for others… I am not.

Just in case it starts to feel like God is doing amazing things in my life and he has lost sight of you… He sees you. He is at work.

I say all this because I know these thoughts too well. All too well.

Oh dear friends, let me take this moment to simply say I am in this messy life with you. I am . I don’t have it figured out. Oh yes, there are times I am really good at looking like I have, but I haven’t.

Funny enough, the moment that I say, Oh, I so have this parenting thing down-or- I so have this life, then

I’m on my face.

Life is messy. I don’t have it all together. I don’t.

This is just a little reminder that we are all in this together. Sometimes running. Sometimes walking. Sometimes crawling.

And there are those times we feel there is no movement. We can’t even crawl.

We can’t… even… crawl.

That is why we need each other, dear friends. We need to hear each others stories. We need to stand with each other and hold each other up. We need to just show up.

So that when we are crawling or worse yet, we feel stuck- lost- not moving, we carry each other.

We fill in where another can not. We fill in when another can not.

Even as I write this, I picture a gang of us, carrying one that cannot walk right now. Words need not be expressed. Our presence says it all. We are in this. We are in this for the long haul. We are in this when it gets tough. We aren’t going anywhere.

So, dear sisters, just in case you have forgotten… you are not alone.

You are not alone in your struggle. You are not alone in your pain. We are in this together.
