The gift of Grace

was scrambling this week. There was just too much kids and too little me.

Mom,  I pleaded on the phone,  I’m not going to make it to pick up Alex from dance. Can you grab her? I’m stuck in Pasadena picking up Brooke. 

She saved the day, grabbing my youngest and bringing her home. We had arrived home at about the same time.  I gave my youngest a quick squeeze and then turned to give my mama a “you totally saved me today” gi-normous hug.

India… Take two

Where to start….

Well, let me begin with saying that I am not a morning person, like at all.  Even when I need to wakeup at, say, 3:00 am to catch a flight to India, I am still not alert or functioning or awake.

It’s like my insides are saying, yay!! Here we go,  but my outside just looks like a zombie.

I have seen those people, who look all crazy alert and amped and to be frank, it’s a little annoying. I just want to go up to them and ask, Like, do you really wake up this way? You probably jumped out of bed and your eyes are all bugged out, aren’t they.  Continue reading

Alex’s observation

“Mom,” my youngest called while sitting in the front seat of our new car.

I heard her plea, but I didn’t respond. I was too busy swinging my head from side to side, making sure that I didn’t hit the, ummm, already crushed brick on the left of my driveway or trample over the grass on the right.

But she didn’t let up, “Maaaaam!,” she whined with attitude, a skill her old sister helped her perfect months ago.   Continue reading
